Ayurveda is an alternative Indian medicine that originated more than 3000 years ago. The term Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit (is one of the oldest languages in the world) where AYUR is life ad VEDA is the science or knowledge.

While I was doing my yoga certification I did as well, the certification as an Ayurveda therapist and I discover millions of things that I believe will help us in our daily lifestyle, little changes big benefits. The therapies include medicines, special diets, massages, cleansing and oils among others. Most of the therapies are based on herbs, minerals and natural substances.

Ayurveda is based on three constitutions they call doshas, Vata, Pitta and Kapha. The three doshas are present in each person, but with some, the air-ether element is stronger, with the other the fire element and for another the Earth-water element. Vata represents the air and ether element. Pitta the fire element and Kapha the Earth-water element. Sometimes a second dosha is also strongly represented and then you talk for example about Vata-Pitta or Kapha-Vata. Or about an air-ether-and fire element domination or an Earth-water and air-ether element domination. The most dominant dosha in your body is the first one mentioned, mixed with the second one.

I could write a big article about Ayurveda, but I will start with simple recipes that you can find on my website. Like when you cook lentils (or legumes), mix them with rice and the properties of the lentils will be better absorbed in your body. Or only 1 teaspoon of Curcuma is enough for our body. So, each week on my website in the Ayurveda section you will find new tips, to start to learn and add this to your life.

Of course, Ayurveda is a complement to our traditional medicine, and if you have any doubts always ask your doctor if you can consume certain spices or herbs. And if you want to know more, please send me a message and I will be there for you, we can complement Yoga and Ayurveda in our life and feel 10 times better than we feel today.
